Teresa Buchholz, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I fell in love with stamping with my first card and became a Stampin' Up Independent Demonstrator in February 2009. Creating fresh project ideas, cards, scrapbook pages and gifts is more that just stamps and ink, it is about sharing part of yourself with crafters you love.

A Perfect Plum Challenge for Me

February 19, 2013 4 Comments

Hi Stampers!

I know everyone is saying, "I didn't know she owed that color" and you are partially correct.  I have the ink pad, it is in real need of re-inking, I don't have that color re-inker and I only had a few scraps of paper.  I just never liked the color, it wasn't pink or pool party so why bother?   Here is why…..

I saw a Challenge over on Fab Friday Challenge that you used Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, and Baja Breeze colors.  My 'self" said that out to be some really ugly cards and of course she made me look at the designer team cards.  Well, I almost fell off my chair.   What a beautiful combinations, who knew, (probably, every one but me & my "self")?   This where the real challenge began for me to make this card . I only had a few tiny scraps of Perfect Plum card stock and one piece about 4" square.  My ink pad was not very moist but after lots of pressing on it, I got 2 flowers stamped on Whisper White.  Now, I didn't have a Perfect Plum marker either so, I decided my only way to make this work was to use my aqua painter to blend in some color.  I think it turned out pretty good and I am placing an order today to get the re-inker and some paper!

I used the new Cloudy Day embossing folder and the Bigz Circle dies, with the Secret Garden stamp set and framelits to make this card .  The saying came from the Pursuit of Happiness stamp set, and of course the fabulous bling is also from SU's Basic Rhinestones pack!

Hope your day is Perfectly Plum!

Yay!!!  I'm so glad we could get you to give Perfect Plum a little love!  Even with your limited paper and dry ink pad you created a great card!   Love that you only made the flowers go part way around the sentiment and the Cloudy Days e.f. is tops in my book lately too!  Thanks for sharing with us at Fab Friday!
