Teresa Buchholz, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I fell in love with stamping with my first card and became a Stampin' Up Independent Demonstrator in February 2009. Creating fresh project ideas, cards, scrapbook pages and gifts is more that just stamps and ink, it is about sharing part of yourself with crafters you love.

Never Underestimate The Influence Of Shimmery.

March 28, 2018 2 Comments

Subtle sparkle, shiny finish are reasons to love Shimmery paper and Shimmery embossing paste.  This is a close up picture of today’s card so you can see the shimmer of the paper and clouds.    It is hard to see the shimmer but it is there and just shines and softens all the details!  Now the entire shimmery card. It is hard to believe I stamped the saying exactly on the very edge of the card stock just where I wanted it with my first try!  It was the very last thing I did and if I had missed I was going to be real sorry!  I love the look of the Shimmery Embossing Powder because it adds texture and shimmer to my clouds.  I tend to forget it has to dry and even knowing that does not stop me from getting it all over the card.  Yesterday, I put it on and walked away which was super hard for me.

There were many different things done on paper that didn’t work.  I had the image in my head, I knew how I wanted it to look but how?  Finally it all came together.  I stamped the girl on a sticky pad (whole sheet is sticky) and cut her out.  Next I stamped her on my shimmery paper placed the cut out sticky image over her. After rubbing the card stock with my embossing buddy, I stamped the Eiffel Tower over her hand with Versa Mark and used my shiny shimmering Copper Embossing powder!  Next I added the clouds using Shimmering Embossing Paste and let it dry.  Next step was to stamp the image on designer series paper and cut out the dress and glue it onto her body.  Daubers were used to color the sky and grass. I stamped the saying and added one last touch of flowers!    The  Eiffel Tower is from a very old set called Artistic Etchings and the flowers are from an old Sale-A-Bration set called Flowering Fields.  Here is my supply list.
