Teresa Buchholz, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I fell in love with stamping with my first card and became a Stampin' Up Independent Demonstrator in February 2009. Creating fresh project ideas, cards, scrapbook pages and gifts is more that just stamps and ink, it is about sharing part of yourself with crafters you love.

Playful Penguins

September 8, 2021 Leave a Comment

Everyone loves silly Playful Penguins whether at the zoo, in a movie or on a card, they are just so cute! Therefore, Playful Penguins in the Penguin Place Bundle are no exception! I used Snowy White 12 x 12 Velvet Sheets to make mounds of snow for them to play on. I even took a retired snowman on skies (you know I have a hard time letting retired stamps go) and stamped off his skis and used them for my fallen penquin.

Playful Penguins

Here is the inside of my card. I cut out some characters for the inside from Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper you can get for free from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog with a $50 order

This bundle is not just for Christmas, but for year round use. It has cool sayings that can be used for many occasions, I love the saying “To The Coolest Friend Ever and I like you a Lottie!

Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card.

  • Penguin Place Bundle
  • Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper
  • Basic White card stock
  • Snow White 12 x 12 Velvet Sheets
  • Fresh Freesia card stock
  • Just Jade card stock
  • Pumpkin Pie card stock
  • Fresh Freesia Ink Pad
  • Misty Moonlight Ink Pad
  • Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad
  • Memento Ink Pad
  • Stampin’ Spritzer
  • Misty Moonlight Ink Refill
  • Balmy Blue Ink Refill

Card Details

Card base is 8 1/2” x 7” Score the 7” side at 3 1/2”

The outside of card has a mat that is 8 1/4” x 3 1/2” cut out of Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.

The next mat is Basic White that is 8” x 3”

I use my spritzer added 1 drop of Misty Moonlight Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill and 1 drop of Balmy Blue Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill to a small amount of alcohol. You can use water, but I hate waiting for something to dry and using alcohol dries really fast.

After spritzing the top of paper to my desired color, I used Versamark ink to stamp the stars. Then I sprinkled on some clear embossing powder and heat embossed it. Stampin’ Up has retired their clear embossing powder, but I still have some just for something like this.

You can use a long business envelope or make your own.
